Master Recycler Newsletter - January 2026

¡Gracias!

Better Impact is Now Open to All!

Better Impact is an easy-to-use online platform where you can manage your own volunteer journey, from signing up for shift to tracking your hours, all in one convenient place. It’s secure, user-friendly, and works on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

What Can You Do With Better Impact?

Here’s what you’ll be able to do once you’re set up:

  • View and sign up for upcoming shifts with just a few clicks

  • Easily log and track your volunteer hours to see how much of an impact you’ve made

  • Access quizzes and trainings specific for Master Recyclers

  • Review the Master Recycler Handbook which is now more flexible and dynamic

  • Update your contact information anytime it changes

  • Receive important messages and reminders from us, so you’re always in the loop

Easy Access Anytime, Anywhere

You can log in from your computer or download the MyImpact app to stay connected on the go. Whether you’re checking your schedule from home or logging hours right after a shift, it’s all at your fingertips.

Better impact will not only make things more convenient for you but also help us better support your contributions and recognize the incredible difference you make. It will also reduce the amount of staff time spent logging your volunteer hours, meaning more time for planning tours, speaker sessions, and other continuing education opportunities for you! What’s not to love about that?

2026 Theme: RETHINK

The 2026 Master Recycler Vancouver Conference is unearthing all the ways we can RETHINK our waste.

Organized by the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation (SPEC) and Vancouver BC Master Recycler participants, this event brings together experts, industry leaders, and community members to explore innovative strategies and solutions for reducing plastic pollution.

This is a highly interactive virtual conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and give suggestions on how we can all take actionable steps to rethink our waste in Metro Vancouver and beyond!

(This event does cost money, as a heads up).
