El proyecto para actualizar el Plan de Acción Climática de Beaverton está llegando a su fin. Check out the proposed draft of the Beaverton Climate Action Plan: 2035
The project to update Beaverton’s Climate Action Plan is now coming to a close. We welcome all community members to explore the proposed draft of the plan - Beaverton Climate Action Plan: 2035 (linked here) - and provide feedback on the city’s public engagement platform. Feel free to email us at Sustainability@BeavertonOregon.gov with any questions.
Beaverton City Council will consider the proposed draft for adoption at their February 17th meeting. Once approved, it will be time to put this new plan into action! Stay tuned as we roll out an online dashboard for sharing, measuring, and tracking progress as well as additional resources to help the community learn about the city’s climate action work.
Extensive community engagement has helped shape this plan. The city would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed so far, and we look forward to working with the community to help achieve these goals. Local climate action wouldn’t be possible without the help of the passionate, caring, dedicated Beaverton community!
Volunteer with the Choose to Reuse Campaign!
Are you interested in helping to promote reuse, and reduce single-use waste in the restaurant industry while earning Master Recycler Hours? Waste-Free Advocates is partnering with Metro’s Choose to Reuse campaign to help spread the word to restaurants that they can now accept customer-owned reusable containers!
Sign up here for the virtual training on March 11th from 6:30-7:30. The training is a requirement to attend an In-Person Canvassing Event. Master Recycler Volunteer hours will be given for both the training and the outreach!
Canvassing will be in SE Portland on March 22nd from 12-4pm and NE Portland on April 4th from 12-4pm. Drinks/snacks will be available. The training will be given in English, but bi-lingual skills are a plus for this volunteer opportunity - though not required. Thanks!
