¡Gracias!
How You Report Hours and Sign Up for Events is Changing in January!
New Master Recycler Software
We’re thrilled to introduce you to Better Impact, our brand-new volunteer management software that’s designed with Master Recyclers in mind!
Whether you’ve been volunteering with us for years or you’re just getting started, Better Impact will make your volunteer experience easier, more flexible, and more connected than ever before.
What is Better Impact?
Better Impact is an easy-to-use online platform where you can manage your own volunteer journey, from signing up for shift to tracking your hours, all in one convenient place. It’s secure, user-friendly, and works on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
What Can You Do With Better Impact?
Here’s what you’ll be able to do once you’re set up:
View and sign up for upcoming shifts with just a few clicks
Easily log and track your volunteer hours to see how much of an impact you’ve made
Access quizzes and trainings specific for Master Recyclers
Review the Master Recycler Handbook which is now more flexible and dynamic
Update your contact information anytime it changes
Receive important messages and reminders from us, so you’re always in the loop
Easy Access Anytime, Anywhere
You can log in from your computer or download the MyImpact app to stay connected on the go. Whether you’re checking your schedule from home or logging hours right after a shift, it’s all at your fingertips.
Why We’re Excited and You Should Be Too!
Better impact will not only make things more convenient for you but also help us better support your contributions and recognize the incredible difference you make. It will also reduce the amount of staff time spent logging your volunteer hours, meaning more time for planning tours, speaker sessions, and other continuing education opportunities for you! What’s not to love about that?
Several Master Recyclers have had early access to the system and are loving it!
What’s Next?
Watch the below introduction to Better Impact for Master Recyclers
In January, you will receive an email with your login information and simple instructions to get started. Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of support resources to help you get started, including onboarding documents, online trainings, recordings of trainings, and Master Recycler mentors ready to meet with you if you’d like.
For several months, both Better Impact AND the old Report Your Hours form will be up and running. This will allow you time to transition over to the new system. Stacy will announce with plenty of heads up in the newsletter when the old system will retire.

¡Bienvenidos a los voluntarios bilingües!
Help us spread the word! Applications for the Multnomah County Master Recycler class closes December 10th.
Tell people you talk with while volunteering.
Share the application on your social media, local Nextdoor, or neighborhood group while sharing what the program means to you.
Congratulations Class 95!
While many Master Recyclers used the online Workshop Year trainings as a refresher, Class 95 completed them as their full course. Last month, seventeen participants graduated after completing all 11 online classes. Many were professionals working in related fields at Metro and local governments, along with a Metro intern and several people who previously took a similar course through Trash for Peace. We’re excited to welcome all of you to the wider Master Recycler community!
