What is a Master Recycler?

Master Recyclers take an eight-week course on the latest information on thoughtful consumption and recycling.  They then share this information to their neighbors in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington county. There are more then 1,260 Master Recyclers, volunteering more than 37,000 hours.  Registration for the fall 2014 course is now open. Master Recyclers:

  • Speak to local groups about thoughtful consumption and recycling
  • Create educational resources and displays
  • Staff booths at local events including farmers' markets, neighborhood cleanups, and other local events
  • Design and implement waste reduction plans at home and at work
  • Stay current on solid waste trends through newsletters and follow-up events, and
  • Have FUN while making a difference in the community.
