2025 Master Recycler Workshop Year
Over the course of 2025, all people who have gone through the Master Recycler Class are invited back to participate in monthly refresher trainings, tours, several in-person spring kick-off events, and appreciation events celebrating you! Pick and choose which trainings and tours interest you. Join all class sessions to essentially retake the Master Recycler class.
The Website Password is “recycler” for those of you who have not logged in for a while.

Waste-Free Advocates Annual Meeting
Join the Waste-Free Advocates for their virtual Annual Meeting. The featured panel conversation will look at waste-reduction bills that died during the last legislative session and explore upcoming strategies moving forward. In addition, you'll hear about the important work that Waste-Free Advocates has achieved this year, upcoming partnerships and ways to get involved.

Our four-session training is designed to equip volunteers with the tools, connections, and inspiration to launch or support sustainability projects in schools. From reducing cafeteria waste to engaging families in climate-friendly practices, ESN helps you bring your skills into a school setting where they can make a lasting difference.
As a Master Recycler, you already have a strong foundation in waste prevention and sustainability. This 4-session training is your opportunity to connect with a diverse network of volunteers and school communities, collaborate on meaningful projects, and inspire the next generation.
Fall 2025 Training Dates:
Session 1 – Oct 13 (online) or Oct 14 (in person)
Session 2 – Oct 20 (online) or Oct 21 (in-person)
Session 3 – Oct 27 (online) or Oct 28 (in-person)

These Master Recyclers are Centurions and get to wear a 100 hour centurion button next to their Master Recycler badge.

Alex Theodore (Class 84) has become a Master Recycler Centurion! He reached over 100 hours by regularly volunteering at Repair Fairs in both Portland and Clackamas County as an appliance repairer. Perhaps he has fixed something of yours? Thank you, Alex, for all your expertise and work!

Catherine Tran (Class 88) is now a certified Master Recycler! Catherine reached her thirty hours participating in many of the continuing education opportunities (often with her pen and notebook). She has written for the Master Recycler newsletter about her experiences shadowing a Recycling Information Specialist, and also tabled recently at the LAIKA farmers market. Thank you, Catherine!

Lauren Kelly (Class 92) has reached 30 Master Recycler volunteer hours and is now certified! Lauren is very active with a local elementary school in Beaverton. Partnering with Eco-School Network, she started a green team with students and meet monthly with them to talk about waste reduction. She even set up a cafeteria waste audit to help students learn about their food waste and what do to about it. Thank you, Lauren!
