Share Your Opinion! Residential Garbage and Recycling Administrative Rules Updates
Are you a Master Recycler in the City of Portland? The City is updating their Administrative Rules governing the collection of garbage, recycling, and compost at homes with 1 to 4 units.
You are invited to review proposed changes, which include:
Customer service improvements
Adding household battery collection service
Emission reductions from collection trucks
Driver protections and insurance requirements
Policies that support the State of Oregon’s Recycling Modernization Act
Required customer access to online payments
How to Participate
First, learn more and read the proposed updates online. Then, submit comments by email to wasteinfo@portlandoregon.gov or by mail (address on webpage). There is also a public hearing in person or by video conference on February 8, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The webpage also has details on that.
The deadline to submit comments is 12:00 p.m. on February 8, 2024.
