Zoo Ambassador Orientation

Love the Oregon Zoo? Join ZooAmbassadors this summer!

Looking for a great way to spend your Master Recycler hours with a kid in your life at the Oregon Zoo? Join our ZooAmbassador Volunteer team. Apply online through our website!

ZooAmbassadors are volunteers that run ZooQuest – a summer-long scavenger hunt held at the Oregon Zoo. This is the perfect opportunity for individual and family volunteering, with youth as young as 10 years old welcome to participate. This year we will be exploring the impact of wasted food on wildlife and their habitat by offering an easy and accessible way for guests to take action through simple steps in their kitchens and beyond.

To become a ZooAmbassador, you will receive 5 hours of training on wildlife protection, interpretation, and conservation as it relates to the ZooQuest game. As you volunteer, you can expect to gain a strong understanding of waste reduction strategies, guest engagement, and community conservation while running various hands-on learning stations around the Oregon Zoo. While these stations are near animal habitats, please note that Zoo Ambassadors do not work or interact with zoo animals.
