The Westside Planet Alliance is organized and lead by five community volunteers that also comprise our Board of Directors. As the pandemic slowly stabilizes, we plan to not only present the return of our signature sustainability event, PlanetCon, this summer or early fall but also expand our leadership team. Our main recruitment is of Master Recyclers and sustainability advocates that focus their work in the communities northwest of Portland. That’s Aloha, Banks, Beaverton, Bethany, Cornelius, Forest Grove, Gaston, Hillsboro, North Plains, etc.

Seeking a volunteer to coordinate volunteers: We want to build our capacity to offer more frequent and widespread events plus keep our Board composition fresh and motivated. We are actively seeking people who have interest in joining our Board, becoming a WPA organizer, and/or taking on leadership and coordinating roles for PlanetCon events. Specifically, we seek those who enjoy managing volunteers including recruitment, training, volunteer database management, etc. We welcome both new and familiar participation from the communities we serve.

Seeking a social media volunteer: We need a person who can help with Facebook/Instagram social media posts on Washington County events and sustainability topics.
