Down the River Cleanup (recycling table)

  • Barton Park 19009 Southeast Barton Park Road Boring, OR, 97009 United States (map)

Join Master Recycler Charley Vannice (Class 68) at this event.

We Love Rivers invites Master Recyclers engage volunteers at a booth at the afternoon BBQ after this river cleanup event. Charley has signed up to check out the kit, but would love company and would welcome help checking out or returning the kit.

This event is held every September along the lower Clackamas River from Milo McIver State Park to Clackamette Park at the confluence with the Willamette River. The Clackamas River is heavily used over the summer and Down The River Clean Up has become a cornerstone outreach and cleanup event to help keep our shared waterways free from trash and debris.

Booth Set-up: 1:00-2:30 PM at Barton Park. Lunch provided!
BBQ Start Time: Volunteers will start to arrive around 1:30pm for the BBQ and will continue to arrive for the next hour or so, depending on what stretch of the river they were on.
Booth Take-down: Take down typically occurs around 4:30/5 PM.
What to bring: Table, chairs, handouts, signs, games, and pop-up tents (if desired). We will not be able to supply tables since all of ours are already in use!

The past few years we have had over 250 volunteers, making this a great opportunity to share your message.
