POSITION SUMMARY   

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient pick-up of redeemed beverage containers returned at stores across Oregon. Daily tasks include supervising employee performance, allocating driver assignments, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining all vehicles in top working order. The Manager will regularly audit current pick-up routes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements while maintaining safety and customer service. Assist the Director of Route Operations in the daily performance of the department.  

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES    

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for assigned Route Operations area  

  • Train, coach and manage assigned Route Operations drivers to complete daily work load, maintain company standards, and following company policies and procedures  

  • Coordinate and schedule all daily operations of the department  

  • Plan, implement and monitor functions of the drivers to fulfill customer needs  

  • Review that all State, Federal and DOT documents are recorded accurately  

  • Manage proper repair and maintenance of company vehicles, including coordination of repairs on trucks and trailers  

  • Adhere to OSHA Safety Standards, DOT regulations and OBRC policies  

  • Screen applications, interview, select and onboard qualified candidates for driver positions  

  • Coordinate new employee orientations and safety trainings  

  • Review and approve team schedules and electronic timecards to stay within labor budget  

  • Escalate issues to Human Resources Department with a sense of urgency including Workers Compensation claims, medical leave and accommodation requests  

  • Other job duties as assigned    

  

QUALIFICATIONS    

  • 2 years of coursework, degree, or equivalent experience in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management is preferred  

  • General knowledge of Commercial Motor Vehicles and FMCSA guidelines  

  • Valid CDL class A license with good driving record is preferred 

  • Ability to pass DOT drug screen prior to employment in this position (if possessing a CDL) 

  • Capable of performing all Driver aspects and responsibilities  

  • Knowledge and understanding of OBRC operations and service areas is preferred  

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners  

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day
