Metro (Admin Specialist) Closes 9/2/2016

Metro's Property and Environmental Services (PES) department seeks a top-notch administrative specialist to be a part of its Support Services Team. This position will primarily support the department's Resource Conservation and Recycling (RCR) team, as well as other programs and activities of the department. PES is a dynamic department filled with smart, knowledgeable, fun-spirited people that function well in tight-knit teams to positively affect the Metro region through solid waste disposal, resource conservation and recycling, project management, planning, policy services and the operation of Metro's headquarters building.  The RCR specifically works to support recycling and resource conservation among businesses, institutions and individuals in the Metro region.  The work of the RCR includes programs that focus on regional waste reduction, recycling outreach and education, community partnerships and Metro's Community Enhancement Grant, natural gardening, toxics reduction, planning, policy, and agency-wide sustainability efforts.

This administrative specialist position is responsible for performing a variety of complex administrative, technical and clerical tasks for RCR programs and other PES programs and activities. The person in this position will primarily support the RCR technical staff of nearly 30 planners, educators, policy specialists and managers by performing a wide variety of administrative tasks for a variety of RCR projects. This position also provides support for other programs of PES as a member of the department's eight-person Support Services team of administrative and program support professionals. The position reports directly to the PES Support Services Supervisor.
