General Position Summary:

The Program Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with identified partners and communities. The Program Manager introduces a menu of program options to our partners in an effort to break down the barriers they face to choosing bicycles to stay healthy and connected. We currently have strong partnerships with organizations and housing communities in Cully and Portsmouth and emerging partnerships in East Portland.

Essential Job Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage in-school programming including: STEM partnerships at Helensview High School and Rosemary Anderson High School

  • Manage the delivery of programming at the New Columbia Bike Repair Hub

  • Support community partnerships in affordable housing communities including: Portsmouth and Cully

  • Manage the Better Bike Share Project to support access to bike share among residents living in affordable housing communities

  • Support Safe Routes to School and Sunday Parkways community partnerships to facilitate fun bike rides, community events, and community engagement

  • Supervise Program staff in the delivery of programming in partner communities and at our bike shop

  • Manage the earn-a-bike programs, including Adult Earn a Bike and our after school Bike Club program. Supervise instructors involved in the delivery of these programs

  • Support recruitment of scholarship candidates for Bike Camp Program and engagement of partners to help deliver these camps

  • Collaborate with Development team to pursue continued funding for our mission-centered programs

General Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience in program management

  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English

  • Personable, receptive, and compassionate approach to collaboration

  • Professional or lived experience working with communities of color on community projects

  • Constructive communication skills

  • Effective planning and time management skills

  • Ability to maintain composure and a respectful and cooperative attitude through high-stress situations

  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to accomplishing tasks

  • Capacity to work independently and deliver on objectives

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed

  • A commitment to equity and social justice

Other Desired Qualities:

  • Other language proficiencies a plus

  • Basic knowledge of bicycles and their components

  • Proficiency in program evaluation

Pay Rate and Benefits

Hours: Full Time, Exempt

Pay: $33,000 to 41,000 DOE

Benefits:  Generous benefits package including Kaiser Major Medical, Dental, and long term disability Insurance, 401k available, Used Bike Parts allowance, 144 hours of PTO (increasing with longevity), sick leave, and employee purchase deals.

Schedule: Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends, especially in the summer, when necessary
