Volunteer Coordinator



SCRAP is a 503(c)(3) nonprofit Creative Reuse Center. We take donations of creative materials, divert them from the waste stream and make them available to teachers, crafters, parents, artists at a low cost.

Part-Tim : 20 hours/week
Vacation and PTO
Monthly craft allowance of $25

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Volunteer Coordination
• Responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Volunteer Program
• Recruits and screens volunteers for store, materials, events and special needs (i.e. Camp and work parties)
• Works with Director to maintain a diverse and consistent recruiting strategy
• Provides orientation to all volunteers
• Participates in the community of nonprofit volunteer management through NOVAA
• Consistently increases knowledge, program improvement and volunteer engagement through professional development opportunities
• Coordinates, trains and supervises volunteers to ensure store functions are managed safely and properly
• Works with Retail Operations Manager to schedule store and material volunteers
• Collects and reports on data related to the volunteer program including number of volunteer hours, categories of volunteer hours, retention rate and recruiting activities
• Maintains volunteer records
• Works in conjunction with other staff members to ensure that volunteers at SCRAP are engaged in an effective manner.
• Coordinates and supervises volunteers at events as needed
• Works with Director to resolve volunteer issues and conflicts
• With the Director, maintains the Volunteer Handbook
• Works with the Director to manage the volunteer program, including developing, implementing, and monitoring systems and guidelines
